Endurocad is honored to introduce Mary Jepkosgei Keitany, a distinguished figure in the world of long-distance running and a true inspiration to many. Born on 18th January 1982, Mary Keitany is a Kenyan former professional long-distance runner who has etched her name in the books of athletic history.
Mary has established herself as the Queen of World Marathon Majors, having medaled 12 times, and taken the title 7 times.
Mary’s remarkable achievements also include being the current world record holder in a women-only marathon, a feat she accomplished with a stunning victory at the 2017 London Marathon, finishing with an extraordinary time of 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 1 second.
Former World Half Marathon Champion, Mary’s prowess extends beyond marathons; as of November 2022, she stands tall as the fifth-fastest all-time marathon runner in the world, and she’s ranked eleventh on the respective world all-time list for the half marathon with a time of 64:55.
Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Mary has dedicated herself to a cause close to her heart, the empowerment of women. She is coming to Cape Town to support and promote Endurocad’s Achieve Young Women’s Empowerment Program, raising both funds and awareness for a cause that embodies the spirit of empowerment and resilience in young women.
